How to adjust the gear clearance by the number of washers?

In order to install the milling machine power feed of ALSGS, it is necessary to adjust the clearance between the copper gear and the bevel gear through the washer, so as to realize the smooth connection between the power feed and the screw rod of the milling machine, so as to realize the function of efficient transmission.
Too few gaskets will cause the gear to bite too tightly, increase the resistance and increase the wear.
Too many washers will lead to loose gear engagement, gear tip wear, abnormal noise, or slipping..
Therefore, it is very important to choose the right number of washers to achieve the best gear clearance.

1. First of all, after we install the connecting plate and the main machine of the power feed, we need to install the bearing spacer.

2. Install the washer on the screw rod. For the first installation user, you don't know how many washers should be installed. At this time, it is recommended that you choose 8-10 washers at will.

3. After installing the washer, we don't need to install the gear key, we will install the copper gear on the screw rod.

4. At this time, the copper gear is pressed by hand to the direction of the worktable, and the copper gear is rotated back and forth.
There are two situations:
(1) the washer is too few, the clearance between the copper gear and the small scattered teeth is too tight, and the gear engagement is too tight. At this time, it can obviously feel that the rotation resistance of the gear is large, and there is metal impact sound, or even it can not rotate at all. At this time, the copper gear should be drawn out to increase the number of washers.
( 2) There are too many gaskets, the clearance between the copper gear and the bevel gear is too loose, the copper gear can not even drive the bevel gear to rotate, and there is no action of gear engagement. At this time, the copper gear should be drawn out to reduce the number of gaskets.

5. Repeat the fourth step until it is adjusted to the following conditions: turn off the power feed(table feed), put the reversing handle in the middle neutral position, and rotate the copper gear by hand to easily drive the small loose teeth. Put the reversing handle on the left or right, rotate the copper gear by hand to effectively drive the small bevel gear, and obviously feel the resistance of the worktable.

6. Since the inward pressure of the locking screw is much greater than the force of human hands, it often occurs that after the screw at the end of the lead screw is locked, the washer is compressed, and the clearance between the copper gear and the small loose teeth is too small. Therefore, when we adjust the washer, we should consider the pressure of the locking screw, and we should put two or three extra washers under normal circumstances, To counteract the compression of the nut on the washer.

7、The thickness of the washer for ALSGS power feed(table feed) is different. It is necessary to select the type and quantity of washer according to the actual situation to achieve the best effect.

8、Finally, after adjustment, do not forget to install the gear key on the screw rod.
